The Goal of the Global Dialogue Initiative
Our goal is to improve the impact of public education/mass media campaigns at reducing tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke by:
- Applying updated campaign lessons learned from the global tobacco control community
- Increasing the financial commitment to these campaigns over time by governments, NGOs and other organizations.
Success Criteria for Project:
- Better results from tobacco control campaigns, in terms of building awareness and knowledge, changing beliefs and attitudes, and changing intended and actual behaviors.
- More organizations applying proven strategies to their tobacco control campaigns.
- More countries conducting campaigns to reduce tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
- Greater overall spending on tobacco control public education/mass media campaigns.
- Greater longevity of tobacco control public education/mass media campaigns.
